Seems like I just can't ever win, my good friend Shawn passed away last night, and my heart is broken :( im so devastated, I was just with him a few weeks ago getting dinner and catching up. This feels so unreal.

Losing somebody you love sucks. This won't help you a bit, but I have been through it too. I'm sorry for you friend, and sorry for how you are feeling right now. I know, when I lost my dad people said that to me too, and to be honest most of the time it didn't help. I missed him for a long time (still do) but the thing that helped me "come to grips" with it was when I started thinking about the memories I had with him. They weren't even always good memories, just memories. After a while it got to the point where I could start laughing again when I thought of some of those times I had with him.

It will happen for you too, it takes time. And yeah, it' sucks.

It's always so hard to lose someone, especially when that someone is a close friend or loved one.

thanks guys, just having a rough time with this right now, kinda just don't know what to do with myself- keep walking around aimlessly, looking for answers. its almost like i feel him here with me, might sound crazy, he was a boy I had the biggest crush on during the best summer of my life when I was in 5th grade. And we never lost touch throughout the years. He's a beautiful person. Thank you for the support, just waiting to find out the funeral arrangements right now

So sorry to hear it.

I totally agree with Hobbs...couldn't have put it better.

Whenever I've lost friends or family I always seem to manage better by keeping myself busy. Whether it's just work or hanging out with friends or doing whatever it is you love to do. It's great to sit and think of your friend and remember all your life with him but you can't dwell on it too much. In time you'll come to grips with it. You can never tell when but you will and it may sound corny but it is true that as long as you remember him he'll always be with you. People pass on but all the memories never do and your life is better because you had them in it even it it was cut short way too soon.
